Australia’s leading alcohol research and education body has presented NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell with a comprehensive plan to reduce alcohol-related harms in NSW. In the
FARE has prepared a plan of action for the New South Wales (NSW) Government which includes ten evidence-based solutions to reduce alcohol-related harms.
FARE provided a submission to the Australian National Preventive Health Agency (ANPHA) consultation into Exploring the public interest case for a minimum (floor) price for alcohol, recommending a staged approach to alcohol pricing and taxation policy reform which would reduce alcohol-related harms.

In January 2011, Galaxy Research was commissioned by FARE to conduct the annual study into attitudes and behaviours. In addition to the key objectives, the 2011 poll also sought to gain an understanding of community awareness of the risks associated with alcohol misuse, and determine how alcohol impacts on local communities.
