A huge community victory that forced Woolworths to back down from plans to build an alcohol megastore on the doorstep of a dry community in Darwin

Together, we fought and won a decades-long battle to mandate effective and evidence-based pregnancy warning labels on all alcoholic products. 

Community voices were heard as the commercial free-to-air television industry’s plan to increase alcohol advertising on our screens was rejected by Australia’s media regulator ACMA.

After many years of advocacy led by victim survivors and advocates, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese recognised action on alcohol as a priority for preventing men’s violence against women and children.

Hundreds of individuals and organisations added their voice to a Federal Government Inquiry into the health impacts of alcohol and other drugs, with lived experience advocates supported by FARE to share their expertise at Parliament House.

Andrew, Annie and Cody recently took part in the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education’s (FARE) team at the iconic Sydney City2Surf fun run. 

They took on the 14km race to raise funds for FARE’s Voices of Change project, which supports Australians in sharing their experiences of alcohol harm, raising awareness, and advocating for change.
