CATERINA GIORGI, Chief Executive Officer
Caterina has extensive experience in leadership roles in advocacy across the not-for-profit and for purpose sectors.
Throughout her career, Caterina has focused on reducing inequity and improving health and social outcomes through strategic advocacy.
Caterina founded and led For Purpose, a national organisation working with other not-for-profit and purpose-driven organisations to build their strategic, advocacy and communications capacity to create positive social change. Caterina also worked previously at FARE, heading up the Policy and Research Team.
Caterina has presented at national and international conferences and delivered training and workshops on strategy, advocacy and public policy.
She has an Honours Degree in Public Health, was a finalist of the 2015 ACT Young Woman of the Year Awards, and is a Fellow of the Centre for Australian Progress and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Sharrin Wells, Chief Financial Officer/Company Secretary
Sharrin has 27 years’ experience in all key aspects of commercial business and public and private sector management. Sharrin’s career is characterised by a series of demanding roles and projects, seeing her implement ground-breaking, innovative solutions. Sharrin has developed a depth of understanding of a wide range of organisations while living and working in remote Aboriginal communities for more than 10 years.
Sharrin is responsible for the financial and corporate management of our operations. As Company Secretary, Sharrin is responsible for compliance and governance-related administrative tasks of the board and organisation. Sharrin holds a Bachelor of Business (Acc), Masters in Strategy and Planning, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), MAICD.
Adam Knobel, Communications and Campaigns Director
Adam has worked as a campaign director, communication strategist and digital specialist across public education, community health and LGBTIQ+ law reform.
Adam was previously Digital Campaign Director on the Australian Marriage Equality campaign. He was the second staff member to join the YES Equality Campaign, working as part of the leadership team with responsibility for digital strategy, supporter engagement and online fundraising.
Prior to joining FARE, Adam led Communications at the NSW Teachers Federation and supported for purpose organisations to develop or enhance their campaign strategy, including being a friend and strategic advisor of the Marriage Equality Coalition in Taiwan and emerging campaigns across the Asia Pacific region.
He is also a founding board member of YOUNG Campaigns, a youth-led organisation seeking to build the power of young people to win campaigns for economic justice.
TRISH HEPWORTH, Policy and Research director
Trish works with the policy, research and health promotion teams to develop strategic policy and research directions. Trish is responsible for the Foundation’s policy analysis and development, advocacy, research and research translation.
A public policy specialist with a legal background, Trish has worked across non-for-profit, government and corporate sectors in five countries, and has consulted widely on strategic policy, government relations, research and analysis.

JO LE, Projects and Partnerships Director
Joanna has led communication and engagement campaigns on issues such as alcohol harm prevention and achieving gender equality, brokered cross-sector partnerships to support women’s leadership, and developed business strategies to launch innovative affordable housing solutions.
As Projects and Partnerships Director at FARE, Joanna is responsible for overseeing funding development, health promotion and partnerships for the organisation.
Joanna was recently recognised for her innovation, leadership, and impact in the community sector as a national finalist in the 2019 Third Sector Awards.
Joanna is a former Board Director of the Women’s Legal Centre ACT and Region, YWCA Canberra and the Youth Coalition of the ACT.
Joanna holds a Masters of Strategic Communication from the University of Canberra, a Bachelor of Digital Media from the University of New South Wales and a Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from the Harvard Business School.
